LYNX OUTPUT OF THE ARTICLE
Note that the ***'s are not specifically supposed to really be used for formatting display and presentation, though we cheat and do so not unoften. They represent logical organization (making lists, right?) (in fact, mediawiki uses raw HTML of the form <ul><li>...</ul></li> for them. I presume that the graphics comes from CSS addons). The neat graphical output that we see on many browsers is not necessarily so portable, and in fact below is the result of using so many in a row when viewed with the text-based browser Lynx:
