Ratcliffe Hall
From CNUpedia, an IEEE Innovation.
Originally a gymnasium, Ratcliffe Hall has been made into a beautiful if eclectic building of classrooms and, on the second floor, offices. It has a central area, accessible from the south-eastern entrance, that has a clear vista of a second floor balcony, neat stairs leading up to a seating area filled with sofas and the ceiling open all the way up to two stories, surrounded by columns.
Ratcliffe can be rather confusing at first, due to a variety of areas, and something of a minor labyrinth of corridors slightly concealed on its western side. Also, the various entrances sometimes require navigation through hallways and doors to get to other parts of the building. All in all, it hosts most Government (not to be confused with History) and English offices upstairs, some ROTC offices on the eastern part of the first floor, student teaching offices, and a complex of athletic offices (the athletic department also has offices in the Freeman Center).
There is a computer lab, a writing help center, and a noted and somewhat controversial Geography room, filled with posters and colorful depictions of places all over the world.
Events that occur in this building include fundraiser book sells and (in the past) UCM Exam breaks.
It should be noted that the Honors Program is headed by a professor in the English department.
