Non-CNU Groups
From CNUpedia, an IEEE Innovation.
There are certain persons or organizations that are affiliated with the school which either exist independently of the school or else fall under indirect oversight. These include organizations that rent office-space in the University, associated societies dedicated to promoting the school, such as fundraising groups, and external communities that are granted use of the facilities.
Groups that Rent Office Space
The Nature Conservancy pays to keep an office at the school for its official representative. He can be found in the Science Building on the first floor, inside a door labeled Field Office Research.
United Campus Ministries for many years rented space at the school. They helped coordinate religious events, cooperation between religious groups, and community volunteering under the Praxis program. After Spring 2005, however, they moved to an office at a nearby church.
Groups that Support the University
There are any number of groups dedicated to funding programs, such as Friends of Music. Membership is generally open to a variety of potential contributors for such groups.
Groups that Use the University
The University is a public space, being a part of the state. Hence, it is no surprise that unaffiliated groups can make use of it.
On the weekends, a Chinese-culture school for children meets in Wingfield, dedicated to passing on cultural heritage. It has apparently- though this fact is not confirmed- been around for quite some time.
