Mission
"The Office of Judicial Affairs works with students and faculty to establish Christopher Newport University community standards. Our work is accomplished through adherence to the University’s Student Code of Conduct and Honor Code. At CNU, these Codes are more than behavioral standards; they represent an active lifestyle choice. Our primary focus is to promote honorable behavior among CNU students, faculty, and staff. We specifically expect students to adopt the concept of responsible freedom because we believe that students have rights within and responsibilities to the University and the CNU community. In addition to working with the Codes, we are responsible for programming on honor and ethical decision making, adjudication of campus offenses, and training on judicial topics, such as mediation, adjudication, and listening skills."
