Jana Adamitis

Dr. Jana Adamitis, Ph.D. is an assistant professor of classical studies at CNU. She has been with the university since 2003, and has, with help from her colleagues, largely built the classics curriculum from scratch. Her primary teaching responsibility is upper-level Latin, though in recently she has taught courses include 5th Century Athens, Sacred Violence (a class on Greek tragedy) and a ULLC 223 on Alexander the Great.

Dr. Adamitis in a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, and completed her graduate studies at the University of Pittsburgh. Her research interests include Republican literature and Augustan lyric poetry, specifically Horace.
