Great Lawn
From CNUpedia, an IEEE Innovation.
The Great Lawn is the name given to an open expanse surrounded by McMurran, the Student Center, and Gosnold. As these buildings are connected by pathways, it is more or less surrounded by a sidewalk, as well as a few sparse trees. Its centrality to campus and the space that it provides has granted it a small popularity as a gathering place for certain Greek Life events, certain campus-wide events, and the Ultimate Frisbee Club. Except for the Frisbee Club, it seems to lack charm as a hangout.

Uses
Examples of events typically hosted on the lawn include
- Club and Organization Fair. Also conducted in the Freeman Center.
- Rock-a-thon, in which insert sorority name gathers their members for hour-after-hour of see-sawing.
- Those entering the school as new residents are often given a free meal/picnic on this location.
Other occurrences include
- One fraternity went so far as to camp out on the Great Lawn.
- Occasionally, certain people climb the trees. They are ideally suited for this purpose, but it does not happen so often as to generate much notice.

Opinions
- The "Great" Lawn is no more than half as Great as The Lawn that once was. We mourn the loss along with that of the Pink Flower Trees and the Ancient Pine Fathers that were. May the guardians of the Circle rest in pieces.
