The Cool Bus
From CNUpedia, an IEEE Innovation.
The Cool Bus is the nickname for a school bus that lives behind On The Run just in front of the Plant Operations Building. From the outside it appears to be a normal child carrying school bus, but what lies inside is much much more.
The Cool Bus is owned and created by Jordan Smith, a theater major in the class of '06. In the summer of '04 he bought the bus from a truck store for $2500 and transformed it into a mobile hangout.

Specs
To be more specific, it's a 1987 International Bus, with a 9-liter Detroit diesel engine, you heard right, 9 liters of power! It has an Allison transmission, 6 tires sitting on 22.4 inch rims, is about 35 feet long, and weighs 14000 pounds. Holding 50 gallons of diesel it gets between 6 and 7 miles per gallon, and has a maximum speed of 55 mph.
Design
A crew of guys in Chesterfield, VA worked over the summer in Jordan's driveway to remove all the seats and install carpet, couches, a tv with dvd and full surround sound, and a mini-fridge with microwave. Chrome trucker lady mudflaps and dark black limo tint were added to give it that custom look. Along with dimmable rope lights and Christmas lights on the inside, it's fully wired.
Home
Parking on campus was made possible by a favor from President Trible. Paul and Rosemary were fortunate enough to get a tour of the Cool Bus at the SigEp charter banquet. Dazzled by all the lights, needless to say they were both quite impressed. Later that week President Trible was nice enough to grant special permission for the bus to have its own spot behind Exxon.
Problems
The bus has only been pulled over once by CNU's police department, for illegal vehicle lighting (the Christmas lights inside). That ticket was overturned in court, but the lights were removed anyway.
GOTB
SO next time you see the bus in action, you can do what the "GOTB" license plate suggests and...
GET ON THE BUS!!!
