A drum circle is a gathering of people with drums, oriented in the geometric shape implied by the name, often invitational and rhythmically spontaneous. Intentions vary, but it is a conduit to focus energy and enter an altered state of awareness. At CNU, drum circles have been enacted by two disparate groups, students in Pagan Earth-Based Spirituality Organization (PESO) (while not an officially sanctioned PESO event per se), and in the past a student performing research.

There are no official times or arrangements for them to occur. The student-circles no longer take place, and PESO's drum circle remain somewhat unpredictable.

There are also community drum circles available to students. For example, the Mystic Moon circles draw students from time to time, taking place every Monday, and another is hosted by a local Unitarian church.

News

Currently, PESO is planning a St. Patrick's Day drum circle for Saturday March 17th, 2007. Drum Circles may also be present on the Earth Day Celebrations on Sunday, April 22nd. See the calendar below.
